Berkeley Pit Biodiversity
Ongoing research by Laboratories in the Departments of Biology (Dr. Grant G. Mitman) and Chemistry (Drs. Don and Andrea Stierle) have uncovered a variety of interesting life forms that are able to survive the extreme environment of the Berkeley Pit Lake System.
This web page will chronicle our published findings with micrographs of these organisms as we discover them.
