Aug. 17-19, 2016
Orientation week is an important part of becoming a college student. It’s your first chance to meet your roommate and neighbors, to get better acquainted with campus, and to get comfortable and settled into your new surroundings. To help you get adjusted, we’ll provide you with plenty of opportunities to get out and mingle with your fellow classmates, explore Butte and southwest Montana, and just relax and get accommodated with the dorms and the dining hall. We will also make sure you have all the information and tools you need to be a successful student on Montana Tech’s campus by hosting on campus events focused on a variety of different campus resources. While this year’s events are still being planned, there are a couple of traditions that will surely take place upon your arrival.
Digger Hunt – Go on a quest to find Tech’s mascot, Charlie Oredigger!
Trek to the M – Stretch your legs and check out the views on our annual trek up Big Butte.
Drive-in Movie – Enjoy a movie under the stars at the Silver Bow Drive-In Theater.
And of course there will be a couple of other to-do’s to take care of within your first couple of days.
Parking Decal – Parking decals are available throughout the year in the physical plant. Dorm parking is available to students with D decals and general student parking is available in lots marked B.
The official Orientation Week schedule will be posted in early August so check back for more detailed information. If you have any specific questions about the week contact Enrollment Services at 406-496-4256.
Welcome to Tech!
