OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
Prepare yourself to enter exciting career opportunities as safety and health professionals or as health and fitness professionals with a degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). Manage health and safety risks in a work environment through the development of safe work policies, or pursue graduate work in industrial hygiene, safety, or health-related areas such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or cardiac rehabilitation. The OSH professional may work wherever health or safety hazards or concerns exist.
Degrees, Options, and Specializations
The SHIH Department has four degree programs. The B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health is accredited by the Applied Science Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. The second undergraduate program leads to a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health -- Applied Health Science option. The department's two graduate programs are accredited by the Applied Science Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. These are the M.S. in Industrial Hygiene and the M.S. in Industrial Hygiene Distance Learning – Professional Track.
