Research Interests

  • Geophysical Signal Processing
  • Seismic imaging and inversion
  • Geophysical methods for prospecting Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide (VMS) deposits
  • Interferometry Techniques in Passive Seismic Imaging
  • Fiber-optic Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) for geotechnical Applications
  • Electrospinning for MEMS applications

Non-Research Academic Interests

Currently, I am mentoring an undergraduate student from Montana Tech Geophysical Engineering department as part of the university’s Undergraduate Research Program (URP). I am also an active committee member of Montana Tech’s URP committee.

I have served in the NSF GRFP (Graduate Research Fellowship Program) review panel in 2014-2015. I am also a reviewer of conference proceedings and journal articles of the following conference and/or journals: Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) Annual meeting; Geophysical Prospecting and Geophysics journals. I served as a Session Chair at the SEG Annual Meeting, New Orleans, LA, October, 2015. I also serve as the Faculty Advisor of Montana Tech Chapter for Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). I am a member of national Council for Undergraduate Research (CUR) in Geoscience division. I am also a board member of Montana Academy of Sciences (MAS).

As part of my interests in interdisciplinary research, currently I am a member of the thesis committee of one Environmental Engineering M.S. student in the area of water quality research; and collaborating with one graduate (Ph.D.) student in the area of image processing for electrospinning applications at Montana Tech.
