Dr.   Xufei   Yang

Dr. Xufei Yang earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) and his doctoral degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He had worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Desert Research Institute (Reno, NV) and University of Delaware before joining Montana Tech in 2015. He has over 15 years of research experience with environmental engineering, with specialty in air quality engineering including air pollution control, air monitoring, and aerosol instrumentation development. He has published over 20 peer-review journal papers and over 30 conference papers or abstracts. For his academic excellence and service, he earned several awards such as the Best Reviewer for the Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association, ASHRAE Grant-in-Aid Award, and Award for Excellent Paper in Chinese Scientific Journals.

Dr. Yang teaches Air Diffusion Modeling, Risk Analysis and Toxicology, and Environmental Process Engineering courses, and have advised two master students at Montana Tech. He also manages the Air Quality Research Lab and is actively exploring research opportunities in relation to aerosols, air quality and climate change.
