Courses Offered:

  • Introduction to Psychology (psyx 100, Fall & Spring)
  • Developmental Psychology (psyx 230, Fall)

Research Interests:

As a developmental psychologist with a focus on peer relations, I am primarily interested in how people harm and help one another. My current focus of research involves taking current theoretical and research paradigms examining social/relational aggression (when we attempt to manipulate and hurt each other by gossiping, ostracizing, or withdrawing affection or friendship) and applying them to online interactions. Much research and theory tells us that negative interactions with others predicts maladjustment, but findings concerning how this looks online are only recently emerging.

Other research interests include the benefits and costs of prosocial behavior and the environmental and genetic correlates of conduct disorder and antisocial personality disorder.
