Engineering   Laboratory   Classroom   Building   (ELC)

The Engineering Laboratory Classroom Building was opened for classes in 1987. Funding for the ELC came from President DeMoney’s Challenge Plan. Construction of the building began in June of 1984.

Faculty offices and labs for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Geophysical Engineering and the Business and Information Technology programs are housed in the ELC. The ELC building was retrofitted during the rebuilding of the Chemistry Biology Building as a home for undergraduate chemistry labs. These labs are now used by graduate students and for research. The ELC is also home to a large open bay laboratory for pilot scale mineral separation testing.
