Parking and Traffic

The on-campus speed-limit is 15 m.p.h.

A parking permit is required for on-campus parking. The cost of the decals is $50 per year for the first vehicle and $10 for additional cars owned by you or your immediate family.

Residence Hall students have different decals and a reserved lot for their cars.

A time-limited visitors lot is located north and east of the Mining-Geology Building and on the Library's west side. Faculty, staff, and students are not allowed to park in visitor's parking.

Spaces for the handicapped ar located around campus. A small Mineral Museum visitors lot is located west of the CHEM Building for Mineral Museum Visitors from 8am-5pm everyday. A copy of the Parking Regulations and map is distributed with each registration packet and available in the Physical Plant Office.

College of Technology students must purchase a Tech decal to use the main campus parking. The decals my be purchased at the College of Technology.

Parking tickets are distributed on campus, courtesy of Campus Security. Officers check the lots frequently and don't hesitate to issue tickets to cars without decals, in visitor or handicapped areas (without permits), or in the yellow-painted "No Parking" areas. The fine is $10 and must be paid within 30 days. If not paid in 30 days, there will be an additional $5 late feed added to the fine. A handicapped fine is $100. It also must be paid within 30 days or the late fee will be added.

Parking Lots

Parking spaces designated "A" are for Montana Tech faculty and staff.

"B" parking spaces are reserved for Montana Tech students.

Parking spaces designated "D" are reserved for residence of the dorms.
