Prospector Hall
Construction of the Residence Hall began in 1935 with an appropriation grant from the Federal Emergency Relief Administration of Public Works. It was open for use during the 1935-1936 academic year. The main structure has four floors each with a student lounge. In addition, there are two wings, each with one floor. It was originally designed to house 110 students.
Today Prospector Hall has been remodeled to house approximately 200 students and each year upgrades are added. Prospector Hall was one of the first wireless “hot spots” on campus. The rooms all have carpet and sheetrock walls. Students enjoy the fact that the furniture is not anchored to the walls or floors, so they can arrange their rooms to fit their living and studying needs.
Centennial Hall
Centennial Hall opened on September 21, 1999, and houses up to 100 students. Centennial provides student residents with cable television, Internet access, a computer lab, classroom, and other amenities, such as a kitchen and laundry room. Both Prospector and Centennial are handicap accessible.
Both dormatories feature computer labs, kitchen and laundry facilities, television rooms and ample study areas. Both dorms are equipped with wireless and traditional network access, and both are wheelchair-accessible.
Family Housing
Montana Tech Family Housing is located about one mile north of the main campus. Two and three bedroom apartments are available. This facility rents apartments to families, couples and singles.
