Accreditation  Information

Montana Tech of The University of Montana is accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). In spring 2010, Montana Tech was visited by a NWCCU Evaluation Committee concluding the 10-year accreditation cycle. Following this visit, Montana Tech began addressing the revised NWCCU standards within the revised oversight cycle.

In the new seven-year cycle, Montana Tech will address the following five standards:

  1. Mission, Core Themes, and Expectations;
  2. Resources and Capacity;
  3. Planning and Implementation;
  4. Effectiveness and Improvement; and,
  5. Mission Fulfillment, Adaptation, and Sustainability.

In spring 2010, the Accreditation Steering Committee (ASC) submitted Tech's Year One Report for Standard 1 and is currently working on the Year Three Report for Standard 2. The accreditation reports represent the efforts of faculty, staff, and students.
